Our 16U Gray crew was back on the diamonds for the first time together in real game action since last fall at the rain shortened Sparks Pumpkinfest in Illinois.  All were fresh off their high school seasons, and we just wanted to get them playing together again before getting into the teeth of our summer schedule.  

The group finished 5-0 on the weekend and allowed only 2 runs on the weekend.  Most were a little rusty at the plate having not seen live competitive pitching in 2 weeks, but they managed to get timely hits when it mattered most.    

The big story was in the circle and in the field as the defense was pitching was fantastic from the words play ball.  Each hurler through really well and the defense was crisp.  We're looking forward to a big uptick in the schedule this weekend as we head down to play in the Wisconsin Lightning Battle of the Borders event in Kenosha County.  36 teams will be in the showcase event including our 16U Blue team.
