In the second tournament for the 12U team they traveled to Salem, WI to play in the Racine Belles Tune-Up. Day 1 went great with the girls posting a 4-0 record through pool play outscoring their opponents 48-6. Day 2 proved to be a bit tougher out of the chute as the girls lost a heartbreaker to the Kenosha Cylcones Blue team 4-2.
The loss dropped the team into the consolation round and the girls rebounded nicely to take the last 3 games of the day and finish the day 3-1. That Cyclones team advanced to the championship game where they lost to a club from Chicago in a closely contested game.
Overall the girls played very well the entire weekend. One bad inning against the Cyclones doesn't overshadow how dominant the girls played. In the 8 games of the tournament they scored 88 runs and only allowed 11!
The 12's are back in action June 14-16 in an ASA Qualifying Tournament in Watertown. They hope to rebound and get back into the Championship mix.
